One scrim falls only for scaffolding to rise as the very visible refurbishment of Main Street, U.S.A., continues at Disneyland. Carnation Cafe Façade Revealed After two months of being hidden behind a scrim, Carnation Cafe’s freshly-refurbished façade is finally fronting on Main Street, U.S.A. once more. The paint and brickwork over the entrance have all been cleaned and revived, and the classic lightbulb marquee is bright and shiny. The Carnation Company sign, a leftover from when the restaurant was still an ice cream parlor sponsored by Nestlé, has been installed over the entrance. The windows above the outdoor patio and Main Street, U.S.A., have also had their painted “advertisements” refreshed. Coca-Cola Refreshment Corner Scrim & Scaffolding However, the work on Main Street, U.S.A., is not yet complete. Penny Arcade, Candy Palace, and Coca-Cola Refreshment Corner are all wrapped in printed scrim. Construction walls also cover the windows, but the businesses are all open for guests despite their external appearance. Once you get past the end of Main Street, U.S.A., the scrim is replaced by a tangle of scaffolding on the other side of Refreshment Corner. The construction walls also continue around the corner. The boat dock at Magic Kingdom has received a paint refresh, although it does not appear to be fully complete yet. Boat Dock The concrete has received a fresh coat of paint. However, it is very obvious that the project is not fully finished as some parts are noticeably older. The next Star Wars release counting down to May the 4th will be a series of new jerseys on DisneyStore.com. Choose between the Rebels and Imperials with two new baseball jerseys or grab a random retro Spirit Jersey with a mystery box. Star Wars Baseball Jerseys These baseball jerseys were already released at Disney Parks. They’re short-sleeved button-ups made of a mesh material. The orange and white jersey is inspired by Rebel Starfighter pilots, while the black and red one is based on the Galactic Empire. Both feature the number 77 on the back as a nod to the release year of Star Wars: A New Hope. Mystery Star Wars Spirit Jersey One of these mystery boxes contains one of six adult Spirit Jersey designs with retro concept art representing Star Wars Episodes I-VI — or one rare secret design — as well as a collector card. This was at Los Feliz Five & Dime in Disney California Adventure. Sequined Angel Tank Top – $34.99 Also at Los Feliz Five & Dime was this tank top featuring Stitch’s friend Angel. The tank is pink with ruffle sleeves. Angel’s face on the chest is made of reversible sequins that showcase her in bright pink or purple. The Disneyland Resort wordmark is printed on the side, near the hem. Mickey T-Shirt – $36.99 Over in the Emporium at Disneyland Park, we found this minimalist tee featuring Mickey’s face and the Disneyland wordmark. The tee has a beige/brown tie-dye pattern. A new offering is coming this May. Disney Lorcana’s Wilds Unknown set introduces a new art style and Pixar characters that fans will love.

Disney shared new Enchanted cards featuring Pixar characters coming to the upcoming Wilds Unknown set for the Lorcana trading card game. More ‘Wilds Unknown’ Cards Revealed Earlier this week, Disney shared the next set coming to Lorcana: Wilds Unknown, which introduces Pixar characters and focuses on “discovery and exploration.” That initial look revealed multiple Pixar characters, including Merida, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Dash and Violet Parr, alongside classic Disney characters such as Maleficent and Pocahontas. First Look at Pixar Enchanted Cards A new article from Disney Parks Blog not only shares more information about the design philosophy behind the new cards, but also reveals two more coming in the upcoming set. The Wilds Unknown set will also have a brand-new art style for its Enchanted (borderless/full-art) cards. Known as “Lore Nouveau,” the style is described as taking “organic features like winding curves and fluid elements” and merging them with Lorcana’s “signature aesthetic.” Enchanted cards are rare and thus an extra-special pull from any booster pack. Universal Orlando Resort posted a new casting call for Halloween Horror Nights 35. The posting is seeking actors to perform at the 2026 event, which runs from August to November. Halloween Horror Nights Auditions Universal previously posted a casting call for Scareactors, animated costumed characters, roller skaters, stilt walkers, and puppeteers. The new casting call is only seeking actors, which means they could potentially play specific characters. Candidates must be 4’10” to 6’3” in height and comfortable working in dim or theatrical lighting, fog effects, and in large crowds. Select candidates may be invited to participate in callbacks at a later date. Interested candidates must be available for rehearsals throughout August and Halloween Horror Nights dates. CinemaCon, an annual movie theater trade show held in Las Vegas, received an extended look at the new live-action Moana remake. Dwayne Johnson at CinemaCon Dwayne Johnson also took to the stage to talk about his personal connection to Maui. He notes that Maui has been with him for over a decade, so it means a lot to him to have the opportunity to bring Maui to life with the live-action remake. Johnson shared that the demigod’s animated look was partially inspired by his grandfather, Samoan professional wrestler Peter “High Chief” Maivia. Johnson shared a photo of Maivia to the audience, who applauded at the likeness with the character. Before introducing Catherine Laga’aia, who plays live-action Moana, Johnson shared that the Moana is not a princess, but a warrior. He told the crowd that his role as Maui is to guide and empower her. “All men of all ages, we should empower and support and champion all women. That’s what real masculinity looks like.” Live-Action ‘Moana’ In Moana, Disney’s live-action reimagining of the Oscar-nominated animated movie, Moana (Catherine Laga’aia) answers the Ocean’s call and voyages beyond the reef of her island of Motunui with the infamous demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) on a journey to restore prosperity to her people. A new ear headband has made its way to Disney’s Riviera Resort. It’s the only item with this particular design, but we wonder if it may be part of a larger collection coming soon. Riviera Resort Ear Headband – $36.99 The ear headband is primarily a soft white color with the resort’s signature blue color. Each ear has blue filigree, with some of the lines creating Hidden Mickeys. The Riviera Resort logo (RR) is in the center of each ear in charm form. The bow in the center is a shimmery blue material with a metal Mickey icon charm. The back of the ears are identical with one exception. Instead of RR charms, they are simply printed on the back. A blue velour lining is on the inside of the headband to prevent it from slipping off. These ears are thicker than most other Disney ear headbands. One side of the headband has the resort’s wordmark in blue, and the other has a Disney | Loungefly logo plate. It’s available in La Boutique at Disney’s Riviera Resort More resort-exclusive merchandise was released last fall, including a Loungefly mini backpack. Button-Up Shirt – $75 The white button-up shirt features an all-over print of outlined images of Disney’s Aulani Resort, green and pink tropical leaves, and the faces of Duffy, ‘Olu Mel, ShellieMay, CookieAnn, StellaLou, Gelatoni, and LinaBell. Duffy Plush – $35 Duffy’s plush features Mickey icons on the bottom of his paws. CookieAnn Plush – $35 CookieAnn comes with her chef’s hat featuring a pink bow. She also has pink Mickey-shaped paw pads on her feet. ShellieMay Plush – $35 ShellieMay’s plush includes her bow. StellaLou Plush – $35 StellaLou has her blue flower scrunchie. ‘Olu Mel Plush Magnet – $18 The magnet is inside ‘Olu Mel’s turtle shell, which has a Mickey head inside a sun pattern. We now know all the Star Wars characters you can encounter around Batuu West after part of the land officially shifts to the original trilogy’s timeline on April 29. Original Trilogy Character Meet and Greets Disney has been steadily revealing the characters coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with the upcoming timeline shift, finally revealing the Rebels together in a group shot and providing a roundup of all the classic characters soon to be seen around the Millennium Falcon in Batuu. Luke Skywalker & R2-D2 Luke Skywalker will appear in his black Return of the Jedi outfit alongside R2-D2. Luke previously appeared at Disneyland last year as part of Season of the Force. Leia Organa The leader of the Rebel Alliance, Princess Leia Organa can be seen in her The Empire Strikes Back-inspired outfit from the Hoth base. Han Solo & Chewbacca Finally, never tell us the odds of running into Han Solo and his trusted partner Chewie around the Falcon. Darth Vader & Imperial Stormtroopers Of course, Darth Vader, flanked by Imperial Stormtroopers, will also be canvassing the area searching for Rebels and spies. New Timeline Characters Because the area around Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will remain themed to the new trilogy’s timeline, familiar faces from the later films and series will continue to roam around that area. Kristen Bell Recording ‘Frozen 3’ Dialogue Frozen 3 kicked off production in February 2026 when Josh Gad confirmed that he had begun recording his dialogue for Olaf. It appears his part is done, as Anna actress Kristen Bell shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos of her recording dialogue for Frozen 3 (for voice acting, the actors record separately in solo sessions). She also shared photos with the production team, including co-directors Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy and producer Christina Chen. Back in the booth!! @disneyfrozen A Disney+ behind-the-scenes video about World of Frozen, now open at Disneyland Paris, may offer a hint at the plot of Frozen 3. A fourth film is also in the works, which is to be produced simultaneously. Two Disneyland attractions have reopening dates: Jungle Cruise in Disneyland Park and Toy Story Midway Mania in Disney California Adventure. Jungle Cruise The ride has been closed since February 17, 2026 and will reopen on April 24, 2026. We recently spotted some new paint and texture work underway on the classic attraction. Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise is a riverboat attraction located in Adventureland at Disneyland Park and also at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. First opening with the park on July 17, 1955, the ride takes park guests on a slow-moving boat journey through dense jungle environments inspired by rivers of Asia, Africa, and South America. Disney World transportation has taken a huge hit across multiple resorts.

Concrete work continues in Piston Peak National Park, the new Cars area, under construction at Magic Kingdom. Piston Peak National Park Construction Crews were once again pumping concrete near the former Liberty Square Riverboat Landing. This time, the boom arm was positioned on the side of the landing closer to The Haunted Mansion. The landing will remain to be repurposed as part of the new area. Along the Frontierland boardwalk, a pair of crew members were working on part of the concrete retaining wall. Some wood framing was removed from the top of the wall a few days ago. They seemed to be working on the rebar frame on one side of the wall, which will eventually be filled with more concrete. The end of the retaining wall near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was filled with concrete earlier this month. There are some circular rebar elements still exposed, however. From another angle, we saw a new section of the wall. Right now, it’s still wood framing and forms, not yet concrete. The Florida-based low-cost Spirit Airlines could come to an end this year amid rising jet fuel costs. Spirit Airlines Possibly Liquidating Bloomberg reports that Spirit Aviation Holdings Inc. is at risk of liquidation due to jet fuel prices caused by the U.S. war with Iran. The company is in ongoing talks with creditors and plans could still change. Spirit first filed for bankruptcy in 2024 and then again in 2025. It was expected to exit bankruptcy this summer after reaching an agreement with creditors to cut billions of dollars in debt and reduce costs. Spirit told ABC News they “[do not] comment on market rumors and speculation.” If Spirit does close, its planes and gates would go to competitors. Ben Mutzabaugh, senior managing editor for aviation at The Points Guy, told ABC News that Spirit’s Fort Lauderdale gates “are considered very, very valuable.” As for guests who already have flights booked with Spirit Airlines travel expert with Going Katy Nastro says you shouldn’t cancel yet “because then you forfeit your right to a refund if there’s still some money left over to be able to do so.” Nastro predicts that Spirit going under would be a “big, big gut punch to cheaper travel.” “The single biggest reason why we see cheaper flights on any given route, especially lower cost carrier, is competition,” Nastro said. “And even if Spirit combined [with another carrier], that would not be great for competition, but at least it would be better than them not existing at all.” Nastro added, “The biggest impact is going to be on the average traveler that travels once or twice a year that maybe is located in a Spirit hub. They’re going to feel the most pain, but the market overall will feel pain for sure.” Fort Lauderdale is Spirit’s main hub but it also flies through Orlando International Airport, the most popular airport for visitors to Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort. The updated Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom will have over 2,000 (fake) bats in the Rainbow Caverns scene at the start of the ride. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Bats Screenshot Screenshot Screenshot Walt Disney Imagineering shared a behind-the-scenes look at the new bats. The scene previously just had airline bats that hung from the ceiling. After receiving a scan of the mountain, Imagineers were able to plan where to put more bats. Now they’ve enhanced the story with individual rockwork bats, rockwork bat clusters, and over 200 show set bats for a total over 2,000. The special effects team also worked on rat eyes and fans that make the show set bats move. The paint team added eyes in the back of the cave to make the bats and rats look like they go on forever. The Rainbow Caverns opening scene will debut a new transformation effect when Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopens on May 3. The ride track and vehicles were replaced. There will also be refreshed Audio-Animatronics, new gold props, and restored effects. With the brand-new track and vehicles, Disney was able to lower the ride’s height requirement. Impressions de France and the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along at EPCOT will reopen after refurbishment on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Impressions de France and the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along Reopening The shows, which share a theater in the France pavilion, have been closed since February 22. The Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along is narrated by Mrs. Potts (Angela Lansbury) and follows the story of the original film with LeFou playing a prominent role. The 15-minute sing-along includes songs like “Be Our Guest” and “Gaston.” It’s performed continuously throughout most of the day. Impressions de France is an 18-minute documentary “showcasing the grandeur, charm and romance of one of Europe’s most enchanting countries.” It’s usually performed from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and then after 7 p.m. Watch our video below. The pavilion’s Palais du Cinema also includes six gallery cases honoring the costumes, music, and artwork that brought French literature to life through cinema, theater, ballet, and opera. After a short closure to “acquire more props” ahead the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge timeline shift at Disneyland, Dok-Ondar’s has reopened with new props. Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities Reopens Dok-Ondar is an Ithorian antiquities dealer who has a shop located in Black Spire Outpost on Batuu (Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge). Every nook and cranny is covered in unique artifacts, and during our April 16 visit to his shop, we noticed many of the props on the walls were replaced to reflect the timeline shift coming to the land. April 16 On the balcony overlooking the main area of the shop, the hanging banners and some of the props appear to be unchanged. However, the large taxidermy version of a Wampa has been removed and replaced with a long horn. The Wampa could be seen prominently in the middle of the balcony before the closure, as pictured below. April 13 A handful of props were removed, including a pair of Clone Trooper helmets. The Ark of the Covenant from Indiana Jones was once barely visible behind a crate, but it was removed years ago. April 16 vs. April 13 Most of the props on the walls have been swapped out. Famous items like the red Imperial Guard helmet (top right), the Medal of Yavin (top left), and a Mandalorian helmet (mid right) have been replaced with other items. Canteens now hang where the medal was and there’s a black headpiece where the Imperial Guard helmet used to be. Busts of Emperor Palpatine and Darth Maul were replaced by models of a ship and the Cloud City of Bespin. The shelves in the center now hold a variety of holoscanners instead of flight helmets. In addition, the red Rogue One symbol at the bottom has now been replaced or covered by green, white, and orange fabric. April 16 vs. April 13 Vases sit where the Empire-branded Sith Chalice used to be. An Amban phase-pulse rifle that was next to the Mandalorian helmet was replaced with what appears to be a spear. Dok Ondar’s desk and the weapons rack behind him appear otherwise unchanged. April 16 vs. April 13 The wall featuring taxidermy heads of creatures like the Tauntaun and the Nexu has remained exactly the same as before the closure. The merchandise appears largely unchanged as well, since items from the Sequel Trilogy, like Kylo Ren’s costume, continue to be sold. Walt Disney World has confirmed that their free water park perk for hotel guests will be back in the summer of 2027. Free Water Park Day at Walt Disney World The perk’s page on the Walt Disney World website states, “This benefit will also be available for Guests staying at an eligible Resort hotel in summer 2027, excluding the Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Stay tuned for more information and dates.” During eligible dates, guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel can enjoy free admission to one of Walt Disney World’s two water parks on their check-in day. This year, the free water park perk will be available on check-in dates from May 26 to September 8. During that time, both Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon water parks will be open. The exclusion of the Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is new for 2027. Movie theaters have revealed Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu novelties that will be available when the movie hits theaters on May 22. These include an LED AT-AT popcorn container. Cinemark Theatres At Cinemark, fans will be able to purchase an exclusive Grogu popcorn container sculpted like the famous character. Also available are a 32 oz Mandalorian helmet cup, 130 oz popcorn tin, 20 oz Grogu tumbler, 44 oz souvenir cup, and the AT-AT popcorn container. The AT-AT features Mando himself climbing the side.
