Disney and Orlando Just Honored This Historic Moment From 1965

Orlando unveiled a plaque at the site where Walt Disney announced the Florida Project on November 15, 1965. The Thornton Park District plaque commemorates the moment when Walt and Roy O. Disney joined Governor Hayden Burns at the Cherry Plaza Hotel. The dedication ceremony featured Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle.
